Kempenfelt Conference Centre

The Canadian Freshwater Alliance  and Freshwater Future  are partnering to convene representatives of Ontario’s Great Lakes non-profit community for this 2-day strategic discussion about water issues.

The Spring Refresh is an opportunity to network, build relationships, share experiences, and discuss collective priorities, activities and strategic directions in the region.  The forum will further offer some tremendous capacity building opportunities designed specifically to spark creativity and innovation in our collective efforts to build for an engaged Great Lakes constituency. Building on the recommendations of the Ontario Great Lakes Needs Assessment that was completed in 2012, this gathering will give those passionate about the Great Lakes an opportunity to come together and celebrate their commitment to protect our legacy.

To support attendance and participation of a diverse group of water stewards, assistance with travel costs will be considered for those with limited funds.  A limited number of travel reimbursements is being made available, thanks to a recent grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, as well as support from Tides Canada. Travel reimbursements will be distributed on a rolling basis, with the first round of applications being reviewed on March 22nd.  Please have your application in as early as possible to ensure consideration.  Applications can be accessed here , or a form can be requested by contacting april@freshwaterfuture.org

You can also connect with the event’s Facebook page , where you can get the latest updates and also find a carpool buddy!

Please contact april@freshwaterfuture.org for more information or with any questions.

The Spring Refresh is made possible thanks to a recent grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario.  Helping to organize this great event is a basin-wide steering committee composed of Great Lakes United, Environmental Defence, Canadian Environmental Law Association, Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association, Ecojustice, and Tides Canada.
